Many thanks to everyone who completed the final survey.

Some highlights:
Q5: Would you recommend this course to others?
A: Yes (36/36; 100%)
Selected Comment: “I would recommend this course because it does not ruin literature/the reading experience like previous literature classes I have taken. It is also good for those who cannot afford to get a low grade, because you know what you have to do from the outside and nothing is really determined by luck; such as the specific questions on an exam, or a paper clashing with a different deadline. The control and predictability is very appealing.”
Q20: Did you feel a sense of community in this class?
A: A lot of community (18/36; 50%); A bit of community (14/36; 39%)
Selected Comment: “Only class that i made new friends in!”
Q27: Do you wish more of your classes used contract grading?
A: Yes (32/36; 89%); Depends on the class (4/36; 11%)
Selected Comment: “I really appreciated the communication the contract provided on how to get the grade you want. In my other classes it is never as clear about what you need to do to get the percentage you want. This way I knew exactly what I had to do to get the grade.”
Q32: Do you think you did better or worse quality work than for equivalent courses?
A: A lot better quality work (4/36; 11%); A little better quality work (14/36; 39%); Neutral (12/36; 33%); A little worse quality work (6/36; 17%)
Selected Comment: “The majority of readings and lectures were riveting. Although I worked less for the grade than other courses, there was a bit more work per week in retrospect.”
